It seems that the 29 year old woman who writes the blog has been reading mine for a long time. Last week was the first time that she left a comment and it was to tell me about a post she’d written about my blog, called Blogs that inspire me: Not Just About Cancer.

I was so touched by this post. And so pleased to learn that some of my writing has been helpful to others looking for answers.

I write to fill my own needs, of course but it does motivate me to keep going when I learn that I have been striking a chord with others.

“Women who are starved of an apology for rude or hurtful behaviour suffer an increase in blood pressure which can raise the risk of a heart attack or stroke, a study found,” The Daily Telegraph reports. “But those who hear a well-timed ‘sorry’ calm down more quickly, with their blood pressure returning to normal 20 per cent faster, the research showed. Conversely, a man’s blood pressure takes 20 per cent longer to recover after an apology – suggesting men become more worked up after hearing an admission of guilt.”

2. My sister sent me an article from the CBC web site this morning, about a colossal cookbook typo with the subject line “Oops.” I’ve made some pretty big errors by not proofreading properly but this tops it all.

3. My friend, O. posted a story to Facebook today, with the headline “Woman with parrot perched on face arrested after throwing inhaler.” Note to self: Don’t throw an inhaler while a parrot is standing on your face. You will be arrested.

4. I’m still waiting for my CT scan results, which could be why I’m letting myself be distracted by all this silliness.

Why am I embarrassed by this?

I can’t help but think, though, that he would have enjoyed the beaver tail more if had gone skating first.

I hope he was advised to have the Killaloe Sunshine and not the Nutella.

Traffic in my neighbourhood is a mess right now, as I live on the way to the airport. I really pity anyone who had a commercial flight out of the city today.

I had treatment on Tuesday (Herceptin and vinorelbine). Yesterday, I felt a little green and a little sore but not too bad, really. Today, I am in rough shape.

My body hurts.

I feel really queasy.

My head feels like it’s stuck in a vise.

I am so, so tired (and yes, I am staying in bed).

I have a couple of posts in draft form but I can’t be coherent enough to make them blog-worthy today.

So – know any good jokes?

I’ll be feeling better by Saturday.

It is very difficult to get a good photo of a black dog. However, I discovered that a good camera can really make a difference.

Seriously in need of a grooming.

I was holding a treat in the air. I really love this camera.

She has a really long tongue.

J-Dog was unimpressed.

I spent the last couple of hours trying to come up with a post for NaBloPoMo. I also needed to re-take some photos for the book. Instead, I took photos of my dogs and turned them into a post.

Although, now I just want to photograph everything I own with this camera.

Too bad I have chemo tomorrow. Although maybe I’ll take photos of that, too.
